Parkroyal Penang is a five-star beachfront resort located along Jalan Batu Ferringhi with two restaurants, including an all-day dining room with an extensive breakfast buffet, a café, two bars, and 309 guestrooms under its roof that practically guarantee a restful night’s sleep. Helping it stand out from other Batu Ferringhi is its low room rates, particularly for its class range, and scheduled kid’s activities like jewellery-making and T-shirt painting.
A home-away-from-home with a lazy vibe, the hotel is especially well designed for families – there is one free-form pool shaded by palm trees and ringed with sun loungers, and a few metres away is a pool dedicated to kids with water slides. Besides that, Parkroyal Penang’s onsite spa serves up award-winning treatments and its seafront restaurant proves to be a romantic venue second to none.

Prime beachfront location in Batu Ferringhi
Parkroyal Penang hotel has a prominent location in the centre of the Batu Ferringhi action. In fact, guests can go from bedroom to beach in less than five minutes flat.
Fun scheduled kid’s activities
Families with little ones will be glad to know that the hotel really goes all out to entertain its youngest guests. This includes fun, educational activities such as T-shirt painting, key chain making and even jewellery creation with beautiful beads.
At Parkroyal Penang guests can expect the same design style, room features and hotel services’, in line with the brand’s other properties. This includes the chain’s signature St. Gregory’s Spa, which offers award-winning traditional Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Javanese and Thai treatments.
Live band at Javana Lounge
Javana Lounge on the lobby level is a great place for guests to socialise, with a daily local Filipino band playing smooth hits while you can enjoy a leisurely drink and savour the cool ocean air from the beach just a few metres away. Ahhh, bliss!
Romantic restaurant with seafront views
One of our favourite things about Parkroyal Penang is that the hotel is home to Uncle Zack’s by the Beach, a sophisticated, warmly-lit outdoor restaurant, with tables and chairs on timber decks, and gorgeous views of the ocean. The food is fantastic and if you arrive early for dinner, you can catch the sunset – the romantic mood, enhanced by candle-light, makes this restaurant a popular proposal spot.
Two swimming pools, one with fun water slides
Kids and adults are both well-catered for in terms of watery action. The main pool is a free form one surrounded by lots of sun loungers and shaded by palm trees, making it a lovely spot for a dip. The second pool is just a few metres away, dedicated to kids with water slides and safety nets to ensure children’s safety. To top it off, the water sports company directly in front of the Parkroyal Penang offers parasailing and jet-skiing.
Large private balconies in Grand Deluxe Seaview Rooms
If you love a room with a view, you will be delighted to know that most rooms at Parkroyal Penang come with private balconies, offering views of the sea. Our favourite is the Grand Deluxe Seaview Room, a 35sqm space with a large balcony with patio table and chairs, where you can enjoy the stunning views of the Penang coast.
Authentic wood-fired pizza at beachside Sunset Bar
Food at Parkroyal Penang is good but the absolutely inexpensively-priced wood-fired pizzas at the hotel’s Sunset Bar just about top our list of favourite meals in Penang. You can get any combination of toppings you like and the pizza is delivered right to your sun lounger fronting the beach – it really makes your day that much nicer.
Free scheduled shuttle bus to Escape Adventureland Theme Park
There is a free scheduled shuttle service that will take guests from the hotel’s doorstep to the thrilling Escape Adventureland Theme Park. It is a fairly convenient service that makes it easy to plan for a fun-filled day in the forest.
Extensive breakfast spread
Parkroyal Penang’s breakfast buffet spread is certainly extensive, with an omelette station, local Malaysian food, cereal, and western favourites like sausages and beef bacon. You will also find daily specials like French toast and even Chinese porridge to help change things up every once in a while.
