This area used to be the longest road in Malaysia. Along this road there are various hawker centers and most of the Penang food can be found here. There are at least two main morning markets along this road as well, one if off to Jalan Ong Yi How and another one is further up north and more popularly known as 'Apollo'.

New development along the south of Raja Uda is known as 'Wooly Avenue' and this houses new shoplots and restaurants.

Visitors can easily find a lot of delicious hawker foods. The food is absolutely wonderful but at a very cheap price.

This outlet is not visible from the main road of Raja Uda but your best indication will be a Petronas Station which is quite nearby to this restaurant. Their most famous food is Koay Teow Th'ng! This is the food that you must try in Penang!

This restaurant business started nearly over 30 years ago (perhaps longer). When the 1st earlier generation used to sell at a roadside stall at Heng Choon Thian Road. Where by today, the shop at Heng Choon Thian still remained but they had expanded their business to Raja Uda to cope with the large amount of cusotmers. This restaurant offers a very good dim sum but in a very reasonable price! There got many variety of dim sum that allow you to pick and choose. Try to avoid to go on during the weekends and public holidays. It will be very packed & crowded!

Bukit Tambun, (Seberang Perai Selatan)

If you are on the North-South highway heading towards Penang, make a trip to Bukit Tambun for lunch or dinner. It is famous for its seafood restaurants, offering a variety of seafood delicacies at attractive prices! It is conveniently located along the highway and has the fishing village feel and smell to it. Watching the slow moving river is soothing after some 4 hours trip (from KL to Penang).

This is not one particular restaurant, but a whole stretch of restaurants. It is situated in Bukit Tambun and easily assessable from the North-South Highway to Ipoh, a 30-minute drive from Penang Island to Ipoh. Upon reaching Bukit Tambun, you will go through a small road and reach the end of the road. This is where all the restaurants are, like Prawn village and Fish Village.
